From The Times Archive 13th December 1923

A distressful situation exists in the western isles of Scotland. The potato crop is a failure, the hay has been ruined by rain, gales from the Atlantic have destroyed the harvest, and on account of the sodden state of the peat there is a shortage of fuel.......unless prompt measures are taken.......20,000 people will find themselves.......face to face with starvation. Scotland always has bad weather its so far North.
Some people that prefer to be alone arent anti-social they just have no time for drama, stupidity and false people.
