I use a non branded folder for my EDC, it looks similar to a Buck knife, in fact I was using it not 30 minutes ago.

What we in the States call the Boy Scout" pattern has been the military issue since WW1. Since WW2 the all-metal Mil-K-818 has set the standard. The Swiss Army Spartan, Sturdy Boy and Soldier all follow the basic design. One could do lots worse.
