actually, thats in interesting idea, anyone know if sustenance type organic farming do 2 week or 3 week retreat type of things?

Could be a good way for a urbanite to spend a few weeks "on holiday" learning how to do basic farming stuff, or rural survival, as a volunteer on a farm, for little more than a small donation to cover food and housing etc.

You could try local farms, market gardens etc. too. Doss in the barn, get some basic experience... Always more work to do in these places than there are hands available to do it.
