this is a good one too but not as good

even someone with minimum skills can build the tandoor and its not dificult to use either.

that looks great, would be amazing if you could do flat breads on the sides

thats exactly how nanne breads are coooked.
you slap the dough to the inside of the hot tandoor.
then when its cooked it falls off.

sadly ive just been and priced up the terracota pots.
it wasnt good news. £25 for the one the right size for the bottom half.

and that was reduced because of a chip. i dont think a chipped or cracked one would be okey

Not a bad idea at all. Maybe to modify it, have some sort of grill inside (with 1 hole big enough to fit fuel through) so when the bread drops off it doesn't land in the ashes.

RE: an easy to make and portable oven
you put a small round metal grill in like the ones in some microwaves

ive decided to go with a bigger version.
ive spotted a large terracotta garden chimnae or whatever theyre called. and im going to sit it inside a bin type brazzier .
that way it will have a chimney on top. and i can have the fire inside the bin with the chimnae thing acting like an oven.
or atleast thats the plan. after looking at terracotta pots it seems it wont cost me much more and i get a product a lot bigger but less portable.

I had one of those galvanised burners & it rotted within 2 years. Maybe terracotta would be more long lasting

sounds great, I tend to do my naans and flatbreads either in a frying pan or on a bbq
