2021 SITREP - The Current US Leadership Failure

Information Warfare and Influence Operations are the dominant tools of warfare in this era. That’s true among militaries and even more so in controlling domestic populations. Digital distractions and content suppression are quite effective. The Silicon Valley companies hire some very smart advertising and psychology experts who would make Hitler's Third Reich proud.

My view is that many governments are now using a fascist model. Private-Public cooperation becomes corporations doing things that government legally cannot. Censorship and manipulation of public opinion through fake news and disinformation are top the list.

It’s not a choice between 1984 and A Brave New World. It’s both. A boot on the throat for dissidents. Pernicious surveillance and enforced compliance. Also, pleasant distraction and rewards for the useful idiots who willingly go along with the programs without complaint. Both approaches are equally corrosive to liberty and personal responsibility.

In the US we’ve lost our moral compass as a nation. Most folks just drift along making expedient choices to stay on the easy path. Patriotism and fidelity to the founding ideals aren’t valued much. It’s an old story repeated throughout history. We know how it turns out in most cases.

These are the times that try men’s souls.

I totally agree and what really sums up these manipulative companies is when we see Trump getting banned from Twitter while the Taliban can tweet anything they want.
It’s a US problem and it’s affecting free speech at a global level and these tech giants need broke up sooner rather then later.
