Britishprepper I have a question , did you join this forum with good intentions to assist and develop and enhance it or to promote your own Chanel .....you are promoting your Chanel in every post ...at the expense of our forum ...looks like a cheap way to get more subscribers again at the expense of our well established British forum ...we may be far from perfect ...but it’s ours ,I can not speak for other members but I do not like it one bit .

I dony know so much, we dont have that many British prepper forums and that one is relatively new less than 6 months old, I think it could do with all the support it can get.

SS Thank you for the loyalty and support but I put this site up and share the data freely. I've done the same with other sites as well including sites managed by regulars here. I'm assuming that he shares the url for here so that his visitors can help themselves as well.
The important thing is sharing information to people that are prepping, the main reason I'm running this site.
The second one is to build contacts, whilst maintaining opsec. That was what the contact db was for and I've made a few contacts through there and the ability to chat about things.

My vehicle is not made or accessorized for "bugging out".
It does not need to be used for "bugging out". I already live in the spot you would bug out too.
My vehicle is set up to work in that location and meet the needs of rural life. It is the model you call the Cherokee over there. We call it the Liberty over here.
In that light, it has full 4wd, roof racks, Class 3 trailer hitch rated to pull about 5x the weight of the vehicle. 5 ton winch. Auxiliary lighting. Also has a 1200w inverter for use of power tools. PA and CB also on board.
I also have a 3/4 ton rated trailer for use on or off road. The trailer is probably my most important accessory. It's for scrounging limber, shifting rocks or soil, filling water butts at the lake, "bring out your dead" wagon, etc.
I never thought of any of my Jeeps as a "bug out" vehicle since almost every vehicle I have owned since I was 16 has been set up for use as a hunting, fishing, camping and general outdoor use contraption. I bought a 1968 Camaro in 1968 and the first thing I did was put a custom exhaust, roof rack and mud tires on it.
I also have a 25 foot caravan parked in the back, used as a guest house. No one knows it's there though, it's painted camo.

I have no intention of bugging out. I bugged out from a city 25 years ago and this rural area is as far as I go (until and unless I win the lottery!!!)

If it comes to having to "bug out" then things have gone tits up far beyond any norm for me. If things are collapsing to that point then I'm going to assume (I know that can be dangerous) that Law and order are also going swiftly downhill at the same time, I'll be making plans to secure a rural property with a well and a good bit of woodland with the rest of my family, we know just the spot.

It looks a very useful device MB, over here you don’t see many vehicles fitted with winches.
As for the UK towing rules can be confusing, they go on about “Maximum Authorised Mass” of the towing vehicle and the “Maximum Technically Permitted Unladen Mass” of the trailer.
Towbars must be from an approved supplier and usually come with a 50mm towball.
As a general guide we are allowed pull a trailer up to a max 3,500kg, trailers over 750kg must have brakes (overrun). This is with an ordinary driving license.
Speeds are limited to 50mph on ordinary roads and 60mph on motorways.
If the trailer is less than 85% of the mass of the vehicle the RAC say there should not be any difficulty towing, but above that care should be taken.
However even the smallest car can pull an unbraked 500kg trailer down to the tip.
