Site security danger warning
I received a message saying this site is unsafe and people might be able to steal your password and bank details.
This message itself might be a scam but I thought it's best to let everyone know.
The message came up after typing in...survival forums uk ... into my Google search engine.

RE: Site security danger warning
Thinking about that for at least 10 seconds would make you less concerned.
Your bank details are not on this site so how would they be stolen.
Your password may be stolen, that is possible by various means, but lets assume it is stolen. Oh No. Someone will be able to post under your name on this site. What a catastrophe. It will be TEOTWAWKI.
Password get compromised all the time. That is why you should never use the same password on multiple sites and it is recommended that you use a password manager to keep track of them. I host my own password manager and all my passwords are 60 characters long. They may still get stolen but if they do it won't compromise other sites and I'll just change it. On the more important sites, like my bank I also use 2FA. That is where you have two types of identification, one you know, a password and one you have, a mobile phone or pass key. Both are needed to log in.
Now atm this site isn't protected by SSL but I'm upgrading all my sites in content and security and it will be. But it just isn't important tbh.
Be sensible. Look after what needs looking after. You only need to make one mistake.
If you want to know more then give me a IM. This was after all part of my job for a very long time. (Which makes me wonder why I didn't set up SSL years ago)

I use different user names and different passwords for each forum I am on, kept in a little notebook so that I dont forget them, this notebook never leaves the house, a bit like my credit card.

RE: Site security danger warning
Everyone should use different names and passwords for different sites, I do not even save sites as favourites and I clear history and cookies after every session.
I have found sometimes while browsing google and yahoo do not allow you to view some sites, duckduckgo will and it doesn’t track your browsing either, could be useful for “sensitive” sites tptb might not like.
Also never post anything controversial, illegal or racist or anything that might draw attention to you and lead to prosecution or worse, there is no longer such a thing as free speech.

I dont use Google or Yahoo, dont trust either of them.
I'm on Microsoft edge, windows 11.
any comments I make are in relation to a survival theory and a time when society has collapsed, until then I obey all laws and rules until they no longer exist.

I don’t use it all the time but I downloaded it and use it if I can’t find what I want, or if I don’t want any iffy sites I might browse to be tracked.
For everyday stuff google is fine as nothing I do is illegal.

RE: Site security danger warning
DuckDuckGo is a search engine like Google and Bing that trawls the web finding sites. Their main marketing headline is they don't record your data or track your browsing.
https://duckduckgo.com/
You can use that link or if you want easier access from your browser you can download a browser extension and use that.
I don't trust any US companies now. Many are doing what the USG asks from them without due process. So I host my own search engine.
