Major supermarket food shortages

Morrisons supermarkets are experiencing food shortages nationwide due to a cyber attack and ransom ware demand.
Morrisons admitted the attack after days of shortages.

One supermarket chain no problem if the attackers target lots of British supermarkets big problem.

Are you stocked up...??

These ransomware attacks use a vulnerability in the company systems to give them access. The chances of all the major players being hit are extremely low. Morrisons should be able to get back up quickly if they have prepped for this eventuality.

It still amazes me how firms link all these systems together. When I was looking after IT I used to decouple them but nowadays they seem to link them all together. It's dumb but easier and then they spend millions on security that only seems to cause problems for the users while the bad guys seem to have no problems.

I wish these guys would focus on Government systems. HMRC, DVLA, Councils as well as our country wide surveillance systems would be nice.

The Spanish floods have wiped away crops in the fields leaving a mess that won't be rectified quickly.
Out of season fruits and veg are spains biggest industry apart from tourism, Spain supplies Northern Europe with its out of season fruit and vegetables.

we will just go back to the way we (wife and I) lived when we were off grid, no electric, no phones, no internet, you know when we had peace and quiet and had time to think about what we were doing.

Yet another cyber attack on British infrastructure, hope trumpy sorts out this war I'm fed up of attacks on Britain because of out support and assistance to one side or the other.

The murder of those little girls was that a response to our support a country I won't name .... might find out in a year or 3.

I work in Waitrose distribution and we have not had any problems with stock. However there has been a mass outage on one of our technical sides of the business that is also shared by many other supermarkets and companies. localised issues relating to power outages is quickly replenished. TBH I think some of the issues are just bad management of the chains that are currently having the stock issues.
