Growing 100 Pounds of Potatoes in Four Square Feet
The link is to directions on building a container for several potato plants that will allow you to harvest the crop without uprooting the plants. Based on the comment thread, I don't think you can use this indoors, but it might work for someone who has a balcony or small yard.
Potato planter.

we use old car tyres (3 high) to grow our spuds in.
Some people that prefer to be alone arent anti-social they just have no time for drama, stupidity and false people.

I like the idea and have seen a 4 foot square one in a allotment (I think they used pallet collars)
I`ve used the potato grow bags for ease before

It looks really easy.
Can the box be used outside from a greenhouse?
Do you have to cover the box in the winter to grow potatoes?
Or do they need to be in a green house all year round?
Not green fingered as you may guess....

you grow spud outside but any frost does them no good
if you get them in early keep an eye on the weather reports and use fleece to protect them
I guess you could grow them in a heated green house in winter

I have also used those big plastic compost bins, and kept covering up the shoots as they appear, that way you get tatties all through the depth of the tub. When ready just tip the tub on its side and collect the spuds. I tried Arran Pilot last year and they taste great.
