SD, if I had the vaguest of ideas what an AV was, I'd tell you... Son advised that it was only the file type and that as long as the source could be trusted, it'd be fine. Accessed now okay.

The Klampits, Thank you for this post. Elderberries and Peppermint are an excellent remedy for colds and flu as well. Elderberry syrup is excellent and should be made and stored for Winter use. I note that there are other posts as well on the article and I will go through them all when I have more time. Thank you very much for this as it reminds me so much of the past. I remember my Mother (God Bless Her) giving me this when flu was around. Kenneth Eames.

Make your own tincture of black elderberry:

1 lb. dried black elderberries
1 liter Vodka (highest proof possible).

Mix in 2 liter bottle, seal, and place in dark cool place for 2-4 weeks.

Strain and bottle liquid, discard elderberries.

Dosage - 1 Tbs every 4 - 6 hours for flu.

Works like a charm! Better than anything the pharmacies have, both prescription and non- prescription.

Jonas thanks for the recipe.
I have to say it tastes so good, I think the dose should be 6 Tbs every hour and not as above,but by midday I'd probably fall down the stairs.
