My quick tip is tape a box of matches to any boxes of candles you may have that you always have some means of lighting a candle.

Drip candle wax into a box of Swan Vesta matches. It keeps them dry.
Also I said Swan Vesta. I don't know why anyone would use safety matches in a post TU sit.
