Alternatives to Sony ICF Range

I'm looking for a multi band receiver that can operate battery 12v.
I've always liked Sony ICF kit but I'm sure I saw a recommendation of something else that was better and in the £80 marker.

Any ideas please?

I don't know the Sony ICF radio. Does it have SSB capability?

For a shortwave receiver SSB capability will let you pick up hamateur radio transmissions both voice and Morse code.

I Use an Eton G3 for travelling and am extremely satisfied with it. Its a bit beyond your budget and rins from an external 6v supply, not 12v

Its specifications are almost identical to the Eton. It could be a good gamble.
