Exclamation  £500
Anyone else noticed that most prep items if done half way properly but with appropriate frugality have a price tag starting from £500

We've found this on:

Water storage
Basic food rations food ( sky's the limit on that I know)
defence weapons
Hunting and trapping equipment
Cooking and heating
Clothing
Off Grid electrical power
Communications gear

The list goes on and on.... and is frighteningly expensive all things considered!

RE: £500
all adds up but with most things you can spread the cost over a few months if need be by buying your latest setup in parts

for example food you can pick up a few tins and extra pasta and rice each month until you hit your target stores, hunting and trapping equipment can also be picked up and built overtime etc

the cost does add up and in some ways you always want to do things quicker but if you not got lots of cash then make a list of what you want to pull together and order them by priority and work to that plan over a longer time.

Also if you can look at spending on different things in the same month for example you could buy say two weeks of food then if you have any spare cash then you could pick up a camping stove or some snares/traps and if you have a big purchase just save for a couple of months

It does strike me that anything with a specific prepper use or connotation seems to have its price hiked up almost like prepping is a leisure pastime so you've got disposable income and the traders/manufacturers are going to take the piss.

waterbobs and freeze dried tins(mountainhouse) spring immediately to mind.
Nothing is fool proof for a sufficiently talented fool!!!!
