gun dreams
As some of you might know my major project for this year is to regain my FAC , it has started well , have joined a club and am enjoying meeting my new clubmates , I did consider going down the stalking route to retrieve my FAC but decided against it because of the cost and paucity of shooting involved , joining a target shooting club means I have a wider choice of firearms available to me when I get my ticket back and I get to enjoy much more shooting , I have a fairly large dream list of firearms already planned in my head but I don't want any that are overtly military looking(black gun's) or so narrowly focused that I won't enjoy them through shooting at the club......any suggestions please.....no elephant calibre's either lol....will be homeloading!

RE: gun dreams
I'd recommend going with the black styling. Not because I'm into the military style. I just prefer a lower level of maintainance. Granted woodstocks don't need LOADS of maintainence, but I'm lazy and would prefer a simple synthetic stock as it needs zero maintainence haha. That's the route I'm going down.

RE: gun dreams
10/22 is a given...with a few improvements off course.....not so sure about a mini 14 though...have shot one in straight pull and it wasn't great accuracy wise, fine for figure 11's but I wouldn't feel confident on a Chinese water deer.
S13 when I say "black gun" it's a generic term for ar15/ak47/mp5 type guns....I really like synthetic stocks and would like some guns with them.
I'm very keen on as many of them to be fitted with iron sights as possible , most of them will be scoped but scopes are the weakest link in the chain....never seen anybody manage to break a set of irons but I've seen a fair few broken scopes in my time.

RE: gun dreams
Got a slug mould in my gun box already
Holy shit I just totted up the price £6.5k without scopes/rings/spare mags/ gun bags and all the other flotsam and jetsam that goes with it.....may need to lose a couple cz527 and steyr do pretty much the same job so one of those may go , same with the marlin and the rossi, more duplication

RE: gun dreams
Does your FAC restrict you to 200 rounds per shooter or 200 rounds per gun?

RE: gun dreams
Theres no set quantity of ammo , you just have to make a decent case as to why you need that quantity of that particular calibre...previously on my fac I was allowed 1500 .22lr 600 .17 hmr 600 .38/357 and 1200 7.62/.308.....had a mosin in 7.62 rimmed and an enfield in 7.62 nato hence double ration of 7.62 would normally be 600
