RE: back of my mind.
I voted "Yes" but am satisfied with the result. The local campaigning and engagement of the "person in the street" over the last few months has been great to behold. It was a fair process, efficiently executed. The majority has spoken. I respect that.

Tarrel,

But it has caused quite a few people to reconsider their positions. Many of the No voters did it on the back of Camorons promise of no change to Barnett and more powers. People down here are now aware of these things and what they mean and they ain't happy.

A bit like Jerry Springer the Scottish People wanted to vote of whether to continue the marriage or not. They decided but now the English are looking at the relationship and they ain't happy either.

LOL. There are going to be a lot of people campaigning now and there will be changes. Not everyone will be happy with those changes and I suspect the No's will be mightily pissed.

I do wish the Scots had had a bit more backbone and told Westminster where to stick it, but there were 2 thing that swayed the vote, the coinage question whether they could still use the £ and the EU stating that "if Scotland walked away from the UK it also walked away from the EU" was the final nail in the coffin( in England I believe this would have swayed the outcome in the opposite direction)Tongue

RE: back of my mind.
just goes to show you should check the facts yourself and dont take others words for it !

in 1979 5.1 out of10 people voted yes but they required 75% of the vote so in real terms the yes vote lost ground!

and they are supposed to be PRO UNION supporters? I could have understood it if they were nationalists but they were on the NO side...very strange, or as I have heard "there nowt so queer as folk"(and I don't mean as in a gay sense before anyone says).

We're stuck with them now, like some sort of ungrateful cousin.
Shame, cause if they had of voted 'Yes' that would have given us chance of also annexing Wales, Cornwall and Essex. Oh, and Luton.
