Isn't there a "hobo" fishing method involving using a coke bottle as a reel, with the line and hooks stowed inside

Hi, after living and traveling in the Pacific Islands for many years, the most common set up for kids and adults alike, is a plastic coke bottle 1.5 litre, with line and hooks coiled around. Easy to cast and cheap. I've seen lots of good sized fish caught on these rigs from wharves, boats and banks.
