its the Delta/Indian variant, it started up North then spread via tourists to Cornwall, Cornwall now has the highest infection rate in the whole of the South West, you know its tourists because of all the northern accents you hear.
Luckilly I'm in a rural non tourist area in Devon and we arent affected.
