Tent, tarp or Bivvy

RE: Tent, tarp or Bivvy
Looking at any extreme situation when we have to (for whatever reason) lay low for a few days before heading back home or get to a meeting point. My thinking was a bivvy and tarp set up for each of us so if anything happened to one party the other would still have their own shelter. This set up is lower to the ground, less of a footprint, easier and faster to pitch and decamp also in all probability less noticeable where as my partner has the view that as we are rarely apart a tent would be viable with more room, easy for changing/access/drying etc. benefits of being able to cook within the "porch" and shared warmth from being in the same shelter, less condensation, less chance of bugs eating you and more viable if required to use over a longer period. She puts forward a valid case.

But...having been left in a vulnerable situation in the past when sharing equipment it just does not sit right with me still.

The area concerned is rural and our main option is staying put (which we have already put measures in place for) also the safe routes we have mapped to emergency meeting points will all be covered on foot.

Hope the above makes sense.
