As long as you don't show them your stores and perhaps share a small meal with them as a sign of humanity then be clear that is it then if they don't respect that then out come the pitchforks and tada the next weeks meal is ready to be cooked.

trouble with that SD, is that they then know where you are located and can come back with more people next time, which is why i favour the "total isolation in deep, deep countryside" approach(unless you are saying we must "do away" with any visitors in order to keep our location secret)?
