In the event of a sudden collapse, I want to have enough supplies for me and ideally others at a "Rawlesian retreat" to live with a low profile for two years. That way we can wait for exposure, disease, fighting and starvation to reduce the population. During those two years, there would be no farming, maybe applying mulch and other preparation for growing food, as well as keeping livestock populations down to minimal breeding stock.

In the event of a protracted, drawn out collapse, I would have food and other preps cached, so I don't stand out as being prepared, keeping only a minimum on display. I would also have a tragic boating accident if things ever got Orwellian. "Oh, woe is me Commandant! If only I hadn't taken all my firearms and reference books on my boat out into the swamp! Opsec is crucial, as the tabloids would probably start demonizing "Hoarders" in the same way they do benefit cheaters.
