I also add my very high recommendations for the British Berkeley filter. It is my primary water filter for a grid down situation (or for having nice water for guests). They take no fuel, or work on your end, just fill them up and let them work. Each 'candle' is meant to clean between 8000 and 10,000 litres, running 2 or 4 at a time.

Very decent bit of kit and there are plans on here to build the housing for it so you can just buy the candles and have a very high quality filter very economically.
Do not rush to meet Death, he may not wish to see you.
