Why are preppers hated so much

I think there are many reasons mate and most of them you have already identified, however to take a group of people and label them as they have with 'Preppers' is very wrong. You wouldn't get away with saying that all Asians are shopkeepers or that ginger people smell funny, but the media think it's okay to call Preppers 'Nutters'. Some maybe but not all of them, it's just ignorance and stupidity...but then we are talking about the press here!
