Why are preppers hated so much

Any minority group will go through a period of being seen as unusual, and unusual is enough for people to start to make jokes about, `there was an English prepper, and Irish Prepper and a Welsh prepper sitting on a wall, the Irish prepper`,... you can make your own end up,... but we all know it happens, in this country it will take some sort of emergency to make people think differently,..I hope that it will not be too late by then

I am a bit supprised that perppers are haveing a hard time in the US though,.. after the likes of Katrina, and Storm Sandy, where preppers must have been seen to be a lot better off, I would have though that they would be getting good `reviews` by now
