I wish I could afford a 4x4. Instead I've got family hatchback car
However I have got a shovel & small jerry can though, aswell as "other" items
Yeah, I'd love a tricked out lwt Landrover, but, unless you're planning to use a lot of greenlaning to your bol, then an ordinary car, imho, will probably be adequate the vast majority of the time. Most car drivers can not use the vehicle to it's true capabilities due to lack of training and the inability to think more than two feet beyond the bonnet. For ten years I lived in a village on top of a hill and where I worked was five miles away at the bottom of the hill and on the few occasions when it was too bad for me to use my scooter I would use the wife's bog standard fiesta. There was one main road I could use or some single track country lanes. More often than not I'd use the lanes 'cos I knew the main road would be struggling with cars, trucks and buses sliding all over the place because the drivers would be trying to drive in exactly the same manner as if they were on a dry summers road. I never missed a days work or failed to get home, even in a foot of snow. Why? Because I remember my driver light training from the army and apply the principles I was taught AND I have read up on driving in adverse conditions since.
they laugh at us because we're different, we laugh at them because they're all the same
