Well, its the same product that is in the magazine. I doubt they are fragile, only thing that would bother me is the amount of release pull required. You could use bite alarms used in carp fishing, Aldi and Lidl have them on dirt cheap now and again, set off by line moving through them, very sensitive.

we're going to Lidl in the morning, so if i see any i'll let you know, otherwise i think i'm back to the fishing line and the tins!
