when does a preper become a raider

I think the vast majority of us would have the capability to become raiders. We can have all the preps and stores in the world but they could be lost, destroyed, stolen etc. It doesn't matter what plans you have made or how prepared you are, you could still end up with nothing in certain circumstances

If you can't trade the skills you have in your head for food and shelter, your family or group are starving, and you see an opportunity to take what you need to survive then I imagine a lot of us would take it if the alternative was a slow death of ourselves and loved ones.

We might well be able to justify it to ourselves, ie my children were starving and they had plenty to spare, but in other peoples eye's we would quite rightly just be seen as raiders and/or looters

Fortunately I don't have children so that is one problem I wouldn't have to wrestle with, I do have a wife and other close family though so in the circumstances I mentioned above I could see myself becoming a raider, not through choice but through necessity.

Knowing how I would deal with raiders who were after my property though the chances are that most raiders will eventually come a cropper, but it's a chance a lot of desperate people will take in my opinion.
