As for guns / firearms one point ALWAYS get overlooked about being armed with a gun, The guy with the M16 / AK 47 has no advantage at all unless he can SEE you, and the cammoflaged or concealed archer / crossbowmen are then on equal terms with the gunman. Nowt more scary to a soldier than recieving incoming fire if you cannot see or hear where the fire is coming from, ergo the group of armed scavengers moving into your area who keep finding one of their number being hit in total silence by an 18 inch crossbow bolt or a broadhead arrow. I'm not nor ever will advocate armed face to face conflict tween gunmen and archers, but the single bowman sniping and scooting is a fearful proposition.
