Even if one is not basking in a state of utter chaos it is not a good idea to have all the eggs in one basket.

Having everything on hand, organized and within reach sounds good, but a single mishap and all the stores are gone.

Be creative. Cache things about the place when possible. Keep extras in the sheds, outbuildings or in waterproof containers.

I keep the bulk in the house, a one month supply of everything in the RV and a second stash in the storage shed. Each vehicle has enough to stay alive for two weeks.

There are also things friends are holding for me and I for them so that if one location is totally wasted the other will be safe.

We will not even talk about the rental storage unit in the next town over.
