You're definitely not alone P1.

I've found the only way to speak to someone who thinks for themselves is to keep asking for a manager. Power companies are worst in my opinion.

Only yesterday I felt I had to complain about the service (or lack of) from a major high street store. Spoke to store manager & "oh I'm sorry, it won't happen again" but they are consistently rude & ignorant every time I've been in recently.

If you ask me, it's down to the telebox in people's homes. They're perfectly good if used right. They can be quite educational aswell as entertaining. Sadly though, they also dumb people down. I call them the Jeremy Kyle brigade. Programmes like this combined with adverts (you need this. Don't think for yourself, just take our word for it. Go buy it. NOW!!!" dont help anyone.

Then there's health & safety daftness. People are that used to being told what's good & bad for them, again they don't have to use their brains.
