RE: Allotments, a very real threat to our community
we were lucky, the waiting list was meant to be between 3 and 5 years but we walked round all the ,local allotments looking or ones that appeared desserted.
we kept phoning the council and telling them were allotments were going unused.
eventually they phoned us and offered us an allotment that was run down and nobody had used it for about 3 years.
it was full of buildings that were all fallen down. and concrete bases.
i can see why no-one else wanted it, too much work.
but my misses works better than most blokes ive worked with , and we got it all pulled down and cleared in less than 2 days.
best thing about the state it was in, theyve told us to just go ahead and build/pull down anything we like, without having to wait for all the planning permission. cos it was an eyesore, and they just wanted something doing with it before next summer.
sadly its a 2 mile walk to get there. but its a great hidden location lol
