this is a, predominately, city only event, so the wisest choice would be NOT to be in a city in the first place, IF you are through work or other reason, the best thing to do as NR says, is to LEG it out of there in the opposite direction as fast as you can.

Where's the fun in that??

my DUTY is to me and mine, no point in getting injured(or even killed) in a stupid protest I wanted no part in in the first place.

Aye, I agree. BUT, if everyone did that then where would we be?
Riots / civil disobedience / protests have their place and are a part of history. They will happen again, and some may even be worth joining in if you feel strongly for the cause.

Not to mention the fun you'd be missing out on....if that was your thing.
