RE: THE CASE FOR DIESEL ( Repost in response to SD comment)
I look out the window. I've been here since 1981 and I've never seen anyone doing anything to the road bar dig it up for telcoms, gas, electrickery and to install new lights. The road part has no heavy traffic at all and is fine. It's the pavements that a patchquilt.
I've never had a tree blocking it, had some branches when someone was taking waste to the tip but that was soon moved.
I'm comfortable that I will run out of fuel or have an irrepairable car before I lose the roads.
