There are repair kits available that contain a 2.8 mm bit of metal tubing, a length of Self amalgamating tape and two single use hose clips.

All easy enough to source yourself

Shrink fit as UKS says or a bicycle puncture repair patch?
An improvised bit of pipe can be a piece of the ink carrying bit of a ballpoint pen
