Dont forget that just as greedy speculators like to drive up the price of oil to maximise profits today by keeping fully loaded super tankers parked up out the way, socialists can equally control its flow and availability, so not only can they retain control by price, but they can also set things up so only "approved" people can buy it. A ferkin good tool for keeping city dwelling sheeple in check.
