That's cool. As long as they fit your need, it's all good.

Ideally I want to get my kit down to as little as 10kg, less than 20lbs, including some clothing and a little food, but not including water. It sounds like a big ask, buy my sleeping mat is under 1kg, my sleeping bag system will be about 1.5kg, my tent is currently 4.5kg (including bag and spare tent pegs), that is 7kg already, then there's the cooker, FAK, and all the rest of the equipment.

I'm looking at getting an ultra light tent, which isn't going to be cheap, but it will cut the tent weight to about 2kg or just below (if I can afford it).

The idea it to make a system that is portable enough to be able to move at 'high speed'. By that I mean running.

I've been thinking about the practicality of carrying a hefting big BOB. The reason to bug out is if your home situation is compromised. If it is, you're probably going to want to shift to high gear and G.O.O.D. to use an American expression. The problem is, if you're carrying a hefting great pack, you're going to be caught up with pretty easily. In which case, you'd have been safer at home, fortified. This is of course assuming you can't use the car. Maybe the roads are blocked or something.

I'll make a thread about this and expand on my trail of thought somewhat.
