I sent NR Junior to the other end of the village with the Uv5RC with the longer rubber duck antenna on it to see if I could pick him up on the other set, range about half a mile with most of the village being between us. I could just about make him out intermittently !!! BUT I did pick up a van driver who said he was on the A1 near the Angel of the North up in Tyneside over 22 miles away!!!! in the other direction ?
