Are 3 day BOB's obsolete?

RE: Are 3 day BOB's obsolete?
A BOB is different from a long term ruck.

A BOB needs to be light enough so as not to impair mobility. It is a short term means to facilitate stealthy tactical movement, a get me home bag.

A long term ruck or doomsday pack will be modular, so that heavy and bulky items needed for farming, fishing, hunting, trapping, shelter construction can be cached, and returned to layer, while you carry the BOB to support your overnight hunting, trapping and foraging activities.
