This question, and leaving it so open, has caused me to greatly consider the different possibilities that may happen. Thoughts like scaring them off, then having someone watch them, has come to mind. Other ideas were to make your numbers look much larger than they are.
Don't forget, if they take your compound/BOL or wherever you are, if it's well stocked, they're not leaving until they have done a locust impression and eaten all of your stuff, ruined your gardening, and the alike. OR, they will move in, take over, and own/control all you've built.
How would you respond? Would you know how to attack your own location effectively?
