Ha! Ha! ' wet up' is good description with saltwater under 3 out of 4 GPs! 20m dawn greyline, long path (!!!) Phone, SSB.

Translation for S13: Rolleyes

'wet up' = LS typo for "set up'

The Fort BoB best beach antenna is a piece of wire on a vertical 10m fishing pole with 4 other pieces of wire acting partly as guy lines at 5m up the pole attached to bungy cord which is pegged into the ground.

Salt water helps conductivity and so close proximity is really quite good, 3 of 4 Ground Planes were above sea water at a height of approximately 5m therefore super resonant at 14 MHz the 20m band.

Operating at dawn when it is grey is known as Greylining and can be done in the evening too. The grey line is the transition of day to night, night to day across the globe and at these times excellent long distant contacts can be made on very low power.

Long Path? Talking to Oz and NZ following the longest path around the globe as opposed to the shortest path: SP!

Phone? = voice transmission
SSB: Single Side Band, actually USB: Upper Side Band! Big Grin
