“entitlement mentality”

RE: “entitlement mentality”
Faced with his pretty little girl dying before his eyes of starvation, the mild mannered accountant from the bottom of the road will turn into a desperate killer.

Post SHTF, there will be a lot of mild mannered white collar types, along with the inner city chavs, immigrant groups, armed gangs etc, all wanting my supplies. I live on the outskirts of a village, but they will come, and they will be motivated to take my food and supplies. Without a seconds thought, thy will kill anyone who stands in their way. And whilst we all discuss this rationally on this forum, think about this for a moment.

Post SHFT, these people are going to come and keep coming, and they will get ever more desperate as their families starve to death. Look at Yugoslavia, a modern world that tipped upside down, setting neighbour against neighbour, and turning friend into deadly foe.

We live on an over-populated and under resourced island. Some more cynical types may even venture to suggest that the powers that be have actually allowed immigration to go unchecked in order to flood the land with disparate groups who will never integrate, but will easily separate into warring factions in a post SHFT scenario. Why cull the population when you can let them do a perfectly good job themselves. Then step in as the big government saviour, welcomed by those who want security, for the price of your freedom of course. Yes, that maybe cynicism too far, but it get's yer thinkin'.

So, how do I defend against the onslaught ? That's the hard bit. As brave, as strong and as tooled up as I am to stay alive to look after mine, they will be equally, if not more motivated, as tehy hear the cries of their starving babies ringing in their ears.

Security is big issue. Soon, I will have many tonnes of supplies, and I cannot physically move them. I need to bug in and use all of the techniques found in this forum and others to "grey out", confuse, and eliminate any threat.

<Lack of food used to scare me, now it is how to protect family and supplies, stay alive in the face of looters and starving chavs, and how to fortify and boobytrap my bug in base.

Some great posts on here.
