Don't thank Apple or Google. They already go above an beyond to help the government and if they really wanted to make a stand they could easily raise the number of government access attempts they have given without be forced to by law. They log and censor things as well. They could do more but don't. They just do enough to make them look good.

Remember Apple showed he gov how to access the data on the iPhone but they had cocked that up already through incompetence.

Fuck em both.
