Careful when storing firewood

It's just commonsense really, isn't it. We store our firewood in a field barn well away from the house and bring it in as we need it. We had a bit of a problem last year when we had a large willow trimmed back. Did you know that wasps LOVE willow sap? I didn't, until we disturbed masses of the little beasties sipping away. It was a bit of a shock. Luckily, as soon as the sap dried out in the sunshine the wasps pushed off.
