This is old news. It is being done now. They say it is to combat terrorism but it isn't. It enables them to build up a list of your friends and business partners. they when you do wrong they can look for you at those places and they can monitor their phones for references. The best bit is you pay for this. The government just collects the analyses data but the ISPs have to keep the raw data.

This is what Stalin wanted but the technology was not there.

We should be so proud we beat the Stasi at their own game in a supposedly free country.

That is why my phones are old technology pay as you go. I change my main phone regularly and I have a couple I only use to call others with.
