What got you into prepping

Reading the news. A cross section of movies like tremors etc. video games likes fall out 1,2,3. Metro 2033, stalker. Growing up in the middle of no where Cornwall and moving to a city where no one is prepared for anything. (like several days with no electricity, heat or food If the power goes and you can't get out of the valley if it snowed). Hunting with my dad as a kid etc. also interested in American stuff, fire arms and the like so it overlaps. I feel like I would have made a very good redneck.
