I see all sides of this.

We're already fully tracked with pretty much everything going on in our lives. There is almost nothing we can hide.

Having said that, we also have no-fly lists at large, we have people banned from countries, we have people banned from having pets. People are banned from living within certain areas of schools, and loads of things like that.

All in all, I think that the ID card would have very little difference to everyday life. As long as you're law abiding, nothing will be out of hand or too difficult to do.

If you think about dogs being tracked, how many dog owners go far without their dogs? That's an indirect way to track the dog owners!

The potential for abuse is massive, as NR shows above, but the problem is that these things already exist. There was that recent outcry about CRB checks picking up stuff from years ago and stopping people getting jobs. Obviously there are things about people with smaller crime convictions that stops them getting a FAC or SGC. But that's the thing, if you remain law abiding, and can stay out of trouble, then there's nothing to worry about.....yet.
