I am not that educated,.. but I can't believe in these solar activity cycles,..I mean what is there about the sun that could possibly regulate it in that way?

The sun has weather cycles like all stars and gas giants, some have cycles like our son does at 11 year intervals, others have spots that form and dissapate on a regular cycles others have storms on a cyclic basis.
