Allotments, a very real threat to our community
This for me is probably the most worrisome issue in todays media that affects preppers the most directly, ( though the late delivery of Bollinger to Fortnum and Mason will prolly cause Ghost the most worrySmile )

The demand for allotments is growing hugely in some areas the waiting list is 7 years long, but in others theres no waiting list. But in many town there is huge pressure due to immigrations and changing demographics to grab land set aside for allotments to build even more houses on.

Often replacement allotments are provided by the authority but often the new land is miles away from the original location causing many allotment users to give up their vital hobby. Another worry is that sometimes the new allotment land is discovered to be toxic as happened in Gateshead Tyne and Wear where heavy metals, arsenic and other pollutants were found on land that had been set aside for market gardens and allotments.

The never ending demand for new houses to accomodate our burgeoning population is placing huge pressures on preppers, allotment holders, small holders and offgridders in our suberbs and towns.
