Agree that reuseable metal tins are not ideal for long term storage due to leakage and corrosion problems. The best readily obtainable storage containers in the US are 5 gallon food grade plastic buckets of the type used in hotel and restaurant food service operations. Cooking oil, dry foods and liquids are packaged and shipped in these. You can also buy new empty food grade buckets and gamma seal lids online or at the large "big box" stores such as Walmart or Lowes for as little as $5 each.
