Ever thought they may feel threatened by a western alliance..nato.. how many countries has nato( usa) invaded or caused civil war killed its legit leaders over the last 50 yrs.

mostly USA with UK hanging onto its shirt tails -excluding Vietnam.
the USA is very good at regime change .
got to agree but we are now where we are and WW3 is at least a possibility if it isnt a certainty.

again I agree, but whilst Russia is fighting in Ukraine and Putin is still in the Kremlin we should at least prepare for any and all possibilities. which I think was the purpose of the General's remark.

The British armed forces have been cut to the bone for years ,not just equipment but homes for the 3 services, wages and making redundant long standing service personal because they are expensive leaving a inexperienced force.
So yes spend away but not for the fake reasons of war but common sense and decency.

I hope that you are right, it's certainly more about money/arms manufacturers, always has been but why the over the top scare tactics now I'm wondering? Why have they not done this sooner? Many decades have passed since the end of WW2 till now for example.
