RE: tescos offer
Sounds like a good deal.
Have you tried them out to see how long they last in use? Like, say.....for a torch left on for a while.

RE: tescos offer
no, I only found out about the offer today, I'm picking some up Friday though so I'll do a test. I figured even if they're naff they're not much more expensive than the poundland ones (24 for £3.75 rather than £3).
the offer ends the 21st March so I'll do a test before it's too late.

RE: tescos offer
I buy all my batteries from CostCo. 24 Duracell for £9ish, or 36 for £9 if they're on offer. That's AA. AAA are pretty much the same, maybe a bit cheaper.
Don't bother with the Tesco batteries, they're crap.

RE: tescos AA/AAA Battery offer
Got my hands on a lot of AA/ AAA batteries recently, just wondering if there's any special storage conditions for them or can I just put them in a big plastic crate with a lid (they're still in packets, not loose) ?

Bucket
Keep them in the dry but somewhere cool never let them freeze or cook.
Don't handle them roughly or subject them to prolonged vibration in storage.

RE: tescos AA/AAA Battery offer
Has anyone actually tried that battery hack or not? I'm curious, but really am quite suspicious about it. Seems too good.
I've seen ones saying an AA battery is made up of button batteries, but that's not true at all. It's made up of loads of weird strips of metal and stuff like that.
